POLICIES

Emergencies

In the event of an emergency, we will immediately seek professional veterinary attention for your dog (at the owner’s expense). All attempts will be made to contact you in the event of an emergency.

Coat Condition

Firstly, we will work as closely as possible with all our clients to try and ensure matting of their dogs’ coat does not happen. However, we understand life is hectic, and you might not get time to brush your dog as much as you would like or is needed.

We will always aim to get your dog into the best routine and supply suitable tools, and suggest the best type of cut, to maintain your dog’s healthy coat and skin.

In the unfortunate situation where your dog does come to us matted, we will examine the dog and you will be consulted in the best way to proceed.

We will always put your dog’s health and wellbeing above everything else, in line with the Animal Welfare Act. If your dog’s coat is matted, we may have to shave the matts out rather than perform a painful de-matting procedure. Also understand that if your dog is severely matted, that there is an increased risk for clipper burn or cuts to occur. All attempts will be made to prevent this. However, in many extreme matt conditions it is unavoidable. Matted dogs take additional time to groom so there will be an additional fee added onto the regular grooming price.

Restraints

Suitable restraints will be used to safeguard both your dog and the groomer. Enabling us to manage behavioural or health issues. Such as leads, nooses, muzzles, baskets and belly straps.

Health

Grooming can be stressful to some dogs, we will ask you to inform the groomer if your dog has any heart conditions or stress related issues prior to grooming. Also understand that it is necessary to have your dog up to date on all compulsory vaccinations prior to every groom.

Cancellation

At least 24-hours' notice is to be given if your appointment needs to be cancelled so the appointment time can be made available to another client who is on the waiting list. You will be charged £20 at your next groom if less than 24- hour notice is given.

No Shows

We use a traffic light system for clients that simply do not show up for their appointments. 1st no show, a green sticker is placed on the client record card, 2nd no show an amber sticker, 3rd no show a red sticker, at which point the client is then banned.

Data Protection

All clients data will be held securely and will not be shared with any other person or business unless required to do so by law.
